Both Lenny and I are from Northern states so we feel much more at home with cooler temperatures and have not yet acclimated to the Southern sweaty summers. So we spend most of August and September longing for a 55 degree day! So we think there’s nothing better than being outside around a fire when it’s a little chilly, as long as you have a hot drink and a bunch of friends with you.

One of the best parts of this tradition is how involved our kids are from the planning of games to the set up to making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Hospitality is a core value of our family. There’s no better way to teach them about opening your home to friends and neighbors than doing it together.
